- 02The CMS Medicare rate for that exact code, in your ZIP, for the year of service
- 03The benchmark gap between what was billed and the CMS rate
- 04A negotiation range grounded in the data
- 05An educational benchmark letter you can adapt and send
- 06A source citation for every dollar figure
The honest part
Not every line on every bill has a published CMS benchmark — hospital facility fees are the big one. Your report marks those lines as not benchmarkable instead of inventing a number. And if we can't benchmark at least 60% of your billed dollars, you get a full refund. Every figure that does appear cites its CMS data source.
Questions
What kinds of bills work best?
Doctor visits, ER physician charges, imaging, labs, and outpatient procedures benchmark best — those have published CMS rates. Hospital facility fees and some categories don’t have a published CMS equivalent yet; your report marks those honestly as not benchmarkable instead of guessing.
Is my bill private?
Your file goes to private storage, is used only to prepare your report, and is auto-deleted after 30 days. We never sell or share your bill.
What if my charges are in line with the benchmarks?
Then the report says so plainly. Knowing your bill is consistent with CMS benchmarks is a real answer too — and the refund guarantee still applies to coverage, not outcome.
How does the refund guarantee work?
Full refund if we can’t benchmark at least 60% of your billed dollars. If your bill’s line items are mostly categories we can’t benchmark yet, we refund the $19 in full and tell you why.
